Emily Nolan is a senior at the University of Mary Washington studying Anthropology and English Literature. She is the president of Columns, the university’s humanities and social sciences journal. She has been published within Columns with her paper, “The Thrill of Hunting for Treasure: Exploring the Gamble and Risk in Reselling.” She is also the Outreach Coordinator for the Sociology and Anthropology Club.

Emily interned with the Afro-American Historical Association of Fauquier County during the summer of 2023 and will be interning with the Patawomeck Tribe during spring 2024. She hopes to continue working with historical associations as a full-time career. After a planned gap year, Emily would like to further her higher education by obtaining a PhD in Anthropology.
